DCF Exam on Saturday, 24/04/10 from 9 am to 12 noon
The DCF Exam will be OPEN BOOK / OPEN NOTES
Course Syllabus for (Open Book) End-Semester Exam
The end-semester exam will mostly focus on the third part of the course covering Partial Differential Equations and Differential Algebraic Equations. In addition to this, the exam will also cover Fundamental Process Modeling and Linear Stability Analysis. In order to solve the PDEs and DAEs, the concepts for Ordinary Differential Equations and Nonlinear Algebraic Equations will also be needed. For ODEs: Runge-Kutta, BDFs and Euler's methods; for AEs: Fixed-Point Iteration, Newton-Raphson are the methods that will be used.
Other subjects such as Bifurcation Analysis, Linear Algebra and Regula-Falsi/Secant Methods will not be covered in the final exam.
